About us

Robinson Family History begins with the Robinson, Burbidge, Chadwick, and Summers families, but its purpose is broader than merely recording a family tree. Through family narratives, historical articles, photographs, documents, oral histories and research guides, the site explores the places, occupations, migrations and social worlds in which earlier generations lived. It is intended both for family members and for anyone interested in family history and in recovering ordinary lives from the historical record.

The research is continuing. Some stories are well documented, while others remain incomplete or uncertain and may be revised as new evidence is found. Information about living people is kept private.
